FURRY FRIENDS original watercolor is 9 x 12 inches on Arches 140 lb hot press paper. It looks to me as though the cat has lifted his head as the dog invades his personal space.....and very obviously looking in his direction. After a time, even the dog compromises with the cat. anonymous
LOST LAMB original watercolor painting is 9 x 10.5 inches on Fabriano rough paper. I was inspired by the Scripture verse in which Jesus tells the religious leaders who were muttering about the people of doubtful character he was ministering to: "Suppose one of you had a hundred sheep and lost one. Wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the lost one until you found it? When found, you can be sure you would put it across your shoulders, rejoicing, and when you got home call in your friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Celebrate with me! I’ve found my lost sheep!’ Count on it—there’s more joy in heaven over one sinner’s rescued life than over ninety-nine good people in no need of rescue." Luke 15:5- 7 Message
GREAT BLUE HERON #2 original watercolor painting. "I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." - Albert Einstein
Almond Blossoms original watercolor painting. I became recently aware of the almond blossom in relation to the description God gave them in creating the ark of the covenant (Exodus 25). The blossoms are used as the branches in the lamp stand, and decorate the ark with gold petals as well. I wondered, what is the symbolism?--- and so I googled. I found this wonderful description in this site . which I quoted part of below. Moses staff was a branch of an almond tree, which did bud and blossom (Numbers 17). "In the Hebrew language, name for almond tree is shâqêd (Strong, 2010). The primary root of shâqêd is shâqad which means to be watchful, alert, on the lookout, and sleepless. Almond buds and blossoms were placed on the Lampstand where the lamps burned during the night to symbolize two things: first, the constant watchfulness of God over His people and second the need for Israel to be alert to the commandments of God."
