QUINEBAUG VALLE COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS SHOW

  Quinebaug Valley Council for the Arts show of children's books and illustrations - open until August 31st - reception held on Sunday.   Also, two other artists and their work represented there.   Diane Hayes of Some Enchanted Evening   and J. SLATER PARK CAROUSEL WATERCOLOR PAINTING

SLATER PARK CAROUSEL watercolor painting is 11 X 14 inches.    Some history on the carousel:  it is called the Looff Carousel is a historic carousel which was built in 1895 by Charles I. D. Looff . The carousel was originally located in a carnival called Lee Funland in upstate, New York. The carousel was relocated to its present location at Slater Park in 1910 where it continues to operate.  Rides are $0.25 each--not much you can get for that anywhere else!    The Rhode Island Watercolor Society is right across the street where you can look at some beautiful paintings, not to mention the beautiful park and walking paths, playground.  And the seasons they go 'round and 'round And the painted ponies go up and down We're captive on the carousel of time We can't return we can only look behind From where we came And go round and round and round In the circle game.” ― Joni Mitchell , The Circle Game   Please see the paintings purchas

LITTLE BLUE BIRD WATERCOLOR PAINTING

 LITTLE BLUE BIRD watercolor painting is approximately 9 X 12.  The background is using the Daniel Smith duochrome paints, which has a subtle  little glimmer.  I used it for the color - the glimmer is an added interest factor which you can't see in the scanning of it.  The bird has such delicate colors the background had to be light as well.   It is a perception that each of us is unique in the universe  and yet shape, form and color remind us we are elements in nature –  that we are all connected.  ( Andrea Harris ) Please see the paintings purchasing information for some general information about pricing, or email me at bunnygriffeth@gmail.com and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

LEOPARD WATERCOLOR PAINTING

VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS NAVY EMBLEM

NAVY EMBLEM is the last of five emblems for the five branches of service that  I have painted.  They will be placed on a memorial in Pawtucket to honor the Veterans of Foreign Wars.  When the project is completed, I will have more photos.   Lots going on....I have been away on vacation but did get some paintings done there so I will posting  Also, and upcoming show in Southbridge, Massachusetts of children book illustrations as well as a book signing.  More information on that as well.  "It follows then as certain as that night succeeds the day,  that without a decisive naval force we can do nothing definitive,  and with it, everything honorable and glorious."
