 LITTLE BLUE BIRD watercolor painting is approximately 9 X 12.  The background is using the Daniel Smith duochrome paints, which has a subtle  little glimmer.  I used it for the color - the glimmer is an added interest factor which you can't see in the scanning of it.  The bird has such delicate colors the background had to be light as well.  

It is a perception that each of us is unique in the universe 
and yet shape, form and color remind us we are elements in nature –
 that we are all connected.
