Psychedelic Zebras Watercolor Painting

This is an 8 X 10" Watercolor done on Arches 140 lb paper.
This is something very different for me, but I didn't want to paint the boring back ground these two were in. I think that it sets off a nice tension to the intense stripes of the zebra.
I am in the process of painting this in a larger painting now, and I'm removing the tree in the center...it should be done by tomorrow. Hopefully.
This is a quote from a previous blog entry but it fits here:

"Of all we don't know about the creation,
there is one thing we do know--
he did it with a smile....
Painting the stripes on the zebra...
putting the gold in the sunset....
Stretching the neck of the giraffe,
putting the flutter in the mockingbird's wings,
planting the giggle in the hyena...
Like a whistling carpenter in his workshop,
he loved every bit of it.
He poured himself into the work."
from Max Lucado's "No Wonder They Call Him a Savior"
